Company partnered with Homeland Security Group to provide a best-in-class security solution for Aluma that protected valuable building metal and yielded an ROI in two months

LOUISVILLE, Colo., Aug. 25, 2010 - Inovonics (http://www.inovonics.com), the industry leader in high-performance wireless sensor networks for commercial and life safety applications, today announced it has been selected as a finalist for Security Technology Executive magazine's prestigious annual Security Innovation Award.

The Sixth Annual Security Innovation Awards, presented by Security Technology Executive (STE) magazine (http://www.securityinfowatch.com/files/ste/2010/ste_2010_innovation_award.pdf), is the only program that honors the best and most unique security technology applications in the industry. STE is honoring the most innovative technologies, design strategies and facility applications in the United States. Organizations are selected based on tackling a challenging security application and providing a successful solution. The winner and finalists will be announced in STE's September issue.

Inovonics' award submission centered on the joint work it did with security provider Homeland Security Group (HSG), a division of Easter Security (http://www.easterslock.com), to create a perimeter security solution for Aluma Energy (http://www.aluma.com/) that would keep intruders out of its outdoor metal scrap yard that contained valuable aluminum and steel metal. Together, Inovonics and HSG quickly determined a solution, installed the security system within 40 hours and not only helped Aluma alleviate the theft that was taking place on its premises, but saved it money in the process over its previous security system. Within just two months, Aluma realized a return on its investment.

"We are honored to be selected as a finalist for this well-respected industry award," said Mark Jarman, president of Inovonics. "It is gratifying for Inovonics and our partner, HSG, to be recognized as a top innovator in the industry. A cost-effective, reliable and proven system, and top-notch customer service were the key elements in what was a very successful joint implementation for Aluma and most likely the driving force behind our selection as a finalist."

This allows you time to think through possible questions the reporter may ask to prepare your responses along with thinking about what your top three key messages should be. You'll be more polished and able to offer key sound bytes for possible quotes in their story.

FREEWAVE TECHNOLOGIES' CRAIG HELD TO SPEAK ON BATTERY-POWERED REMOTE MONITORING AT NACE CENTRAL AREA CONFERENCE 2010

WHO: Craig Held
General Manager, International
FreeWave Technologies, Inc.

Craig Held is general manager of FreeWave Technologies' international operations and also serves as acting cathodic protection product manager.

Founded in 1993, FreeWave Technologies is a world leader in the innovative design/manufacture of license-free spread spectrum, licensed band radios and wireless data solutions that are trusted for mission critical applications around the world (www.freewave.com).

WHAT: "Applications and Innovations for Battery-powered Remote Monitoring"

As automated remote monitoring with wireless data communication radios increasingly are becoming a popular choice for many pipeline, energy and utility operators, additional wireless options have begun to emerge. Battery-powered remote monitoring is a new solution that is available for pipe-to-soil measurement. Unlike a traditional wireless system, this automated remote monitoring system option can be submersed and installed underground.

Traditionally, a technician would manually collect pipe-to-soil measurements while making inspections of the right of way or the effected structure. Battery-powered remote monitoring eliminates the need for manual measurements and provides real-time data from the field directly to the user's fingertips. This new remote monitoring option eliminates the need for solar panels and, because it can reside underground, decreases the chance of theft and vandalism. Using battery-powered remote monitoring can bring the price of remote monitoring down to the point where it's feasible to eliminate most, if not all, pipe-to-soil manual monitoring.

These new systems are designed for pipe-to-soil users who are committed to exceeding compliance requirements and moving from measurement to active mitigation.. This presentation will discuss remote monitoring options that are available and affordable in a secure proprietary network with no connection fees. In addition, it will provide a real-world case study example of how technologies, like this, are being deployed at a major international airport to improve its automated monitoring.

THOUGHTWORKS LAUNCHES BUILD, RELEASE AND DEVOPS SERVICE OFFERING FOR ENTERPRISE AGILE SUCCESS

Global leader in Agile provides actionable service to help IT organizations
take the pain and waste out of building and releasing quality software

ORLANDO (Agile 2010) - Aug. 10, 2010 - ThoughtWorks, Inc. (www.thoughtworks.com), a global IT consultancy focused on enterprise Agile software development, today announced Build, Release and DevOps, a new service offering that helps IT organizations assess, plan and implement new processes that lead to rapid and reliable releases of quality software. This hands-on, on-site service focuses on adopting proven best practices, deploying automation tools and properly aligning organizational structures that collectively bring stability and efficiency across the software lifecycle.

"IT organizations are focusing on becoming more adaptive to customers' needs and fulfilling those needs faster. This requires shorter release cycles and higher development throughput, achieved by improving processes, automation and the roles of both development and IT operations team members," explained Rolf Russell, build and release principal for ThoughtWorks. "We believe it is critical to view the pipeline from development through testing to production as a whole, or system, not as independent steps. This new service helps IT organizations remove operational silos and structural impediments that inhibit the entire build and release process."

Build, Release and DevOps is based on the extensive experience ThoughtWorks consulting and delivery teams have implementing best practices and technology platforms within large, complex and high-profile IT organizations. The initial offering is a two- to four-week engagement that focuses on assessing current methods and processes, and developing a vision roadmap for implementing change. This can then be followed with ThoughtWorks consulting and technical engineering experts embedded on-site to help implement the plan and facilitate a new, holistic and sustainable build and release program.

IT organizations that engage the Build, Release and DevOps service can achieve the following breakthroughs:

Rapid and smooth progression from "feature complete" to "live," with deployment processes that are consistent and automated, and where testing environments are reliable and IT operations requirements are built into the system from the beginning.

Turning production releases into non-events. Based on years of proven experience streamlining the path to production, ThoughtWorks helps customers reduce the time and resources typically required for enterprise software releases to a fraction of normal levels.

Creating a build system that provides quantitative visibility into an organization's portfolio of applications and systems. This includes development progress metrics that help identify activities or stages that bottleneck or are unreliable. It also includes code quality metrics that help identify areas of high risk for defects or high cost for maintenance.

Uniting development and IT operations teams to partner and collaborate on improving the stability, throughput and quality of software releases. Development "hand-offs" of code to IT operations become efficient, leading to better trust, productivity and software getting into production rapidly.

ThoughtWorks (professional services) and ThoughtWorks Studios (Agile ALM solutions) continue to bring real-world experience together to advance best practices and automation around build and release management. An example is Continuous Delivery, a new Agile practice pioneered by ThoughtWorks that combines automation, engineering rigor and strong collaboration to break down the prevalent organizational silos that segregate development, QA and IT operations. To facilitate new levels of automation around Continuous Delivery, ThoughtWorks Studios recently launched GoTM, a new Agile release management platform that allows organizations to incrementally automate the entire build, test and deployment process and release software faster and more reliably.

THOUGHTWORKS STUDIOS LAUNCHES NEW 'BUSINESS AGILITY REVIEW' SERVICE FOR AGILE BENCHMARKING AND PLANNING

Two-day, on-site analysis by ThoughtWorks Studios experts helps IT organizations gauge current status of Agile programs and develop roadmaps for future success

ORLANDO (Agile 2010), Aug. 9, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios (www.thoughtworks-studios.com), a global leader in Agile ALM solutions, today announced Business Agility Review, a new service that helps IT organizations clearly understand their current state of Agile practice adoption and provides recommendations for efficiently and effectively scaling Agile across the enterprise. The two-day, on-site service is offered through the ThoughtWorks Studios Agile Workshop series, a set of training programs that help development organizations adopt proven best practices for all aspects of Agile ALM.

"As Agile practices move deeper into the enterprise many organizations want to take stock of the investments and progress they have made, and develop a clear roadmap that takes into consideration their own, unique requirements," said Adam Monago, vice president of client services for ThoughtWorks Studios. "Business Agility Review provides a process to quickly gain true visibility into the state of the organization's Agile transition program and develop guidance around education and awareness, human resources, as well as tools and technologies that will work best to achieve a highly productive Agile program."

Based on ThoughtWorks' extensive experience developing and managing enterprise-wide Agile engagements, Business Agility Review consists of in-depth interviews with key technical and business stakeholders to obtain a holistic view of the entire application development process. There are six areas of focus around management practices, including; assurance, communication, governance, metrics, quality responsiveness and shared responsibility. On the technical side, the Review focuses on build and deploy, configuration management, requirements, simplicity and testing. The result is a detailed report that provides both the analysis of an organization's Agile readiness and specific recommendations for future success. The recommendations may include tools, training or services, such as delivery, coaching or consulting, from across ThoughtWorks broad portfolio of offerings.

ThoughtWorks Studios Agile Workshops are a compliment to Adaptive ALMTM, the company's integrated Agile ALM solution designed to support the hybrid nature of Agile processes and the requisite management and engineering practices. It manages the entire software lifecycle - from requirements definition and portfolio management to test automation, quality assurance and release management. The Agile Workshops provide customers with the training needed to improve program visibility and performance. Covering all aspects of Agile ALM, ThoughtWorks Agile Workshops are taught by highly experienced development experts. The workshops are grouped into four primary areas of practice, including: Agile Foundations (core training around technical and business requirements), Team Collaboration and Project Management, Testing and Quality Assurance, and Continuous Build and Release Management (including Continuous Delivery).

Best practices, practical content and Go solution provide the knowledge and technology to develop and release enterprise-grade mobile applications

ORLANDO (Agile 2010), Aug. 9, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios (www.thoughtworks-studios.com), a global leader in Agile ALM solutions, today announced Go MobileTM, a collection of practical content, best practices and technical solutions to help IT organizations build and deploy enterprise-grade mobile applications for the iPhone/iPad, Android and BlackBerry platforms.

"Go Mobile directly addresses the lack of resources that are available to developers and IT organizations that must quickly develop and release high-quality mobile applications," said Adam Monago, vice president of client services for ThoughtWorks Studios. "Through best practices, community input and technology, Go Mobile provides the knowledge and tools developers need to leverage mobile platforms at the enterprise level."

Go Mobile brings together a range of resources, including tooling and supporting engineering practices, for Agile mobile developers working on the iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android and BlackBerry platforms. Based on ThoughtWorks' extensive experience building feature-rich mobile applications, it fills a major gap regarding automated testing and deployment by providing the right infrastructure for successful projects.

Go Mobile is comprised of the following resources:

ThoughtWorks (professional services) and ThoughtWorks Studios (Agile ALM solutions) continue to bring real-world experience together to advance best practices around software development. ThoughtWorks' Go Mobile demonstrates how shared knowledge can advance new and emerging development challenges. Complementing this shared knowledge with its free automated test tool Frank, in combination with the Continuous Delivery capabilities of Go, ThoughtWorks Studios is helping organizations deliver value to mobile users without compromising quality.

"It is no surprise that developing a mobile application strategy has become a critical part of an IT organization's technology portfolio," said Monago. "The ubiquity of the BlackBerry, iPhone/iPad and Android phones have changed discussions from if a mobile project should be launched to when. Our clients are asking for the best way to move existing applications onto mobile platforms, and together with the open source community, we are excited to help drive new and better ways of delivering value through software."

TASKTOP NAMES NEELAN CHOKSI PRESIDENT AND COO

Choksi appointment latest addition to Tasktop executive team
as it continues rapid growth

ORLANDO (AGILE 2010), Aug. 9, 2010 - Tasktop Technologies (www.tasktop.com), creators of Eclipse Mylyn and the leader in Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration and productivity, today announced Neelan Choksi as its president and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Choksi, a long-time board member of Tasktop, brings extensive experience from his track record of successful leadership roles at technology companies such as SolarMetric (acquired by BEA), SpringSource (acquired by VMware) and Lexcycle (acquired by Amazon). Choksi will be responsible for managing and further accelerating Tasktop's rapid growth and will also head the US operations of the Vancouver-based company.

"Neelan has that very rare ability to repeatedly turn pain points with the status quo into thriving start-ups, communities and product offerings," explain Kersten, CEO of Tasktop and creator of the open source Eclipse Mylyn project. "Neelan helped create one of the largest open source acquisitions as COO of SpringSource, followed by his success with Stanza, the first massively popular ebook reader, in his role as CEO of Lexcycle. This unique breadth of expertise provides Tasktop the experience needed to continue scaling our enterprise-focused Agile and ALM offerings, while paving the road to transforming the productivity of all knowledge workers with the task-focused desktop."

Choksi brings extensive technology management experience to Tasktop. Most recently he served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Lexcycle, the company that developed Stanza, which became the most popular ebook reader for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. Lexcycle was acquired by Amazon in 2009. Prior to Lexcycle, Neelan served as the COO for SpringSource, the venture-backed open source infrastructure software company behind the Spring Framework, acquired for $420M by VMware in 2009. Before joining SpringSource, Choksi served as co-founder and president of SolarMetric, a leading object relational mapping provider, which was acquired by BEA Systems in 2005. At BEA, Neelan was instrumental in open sourcing the acclaimed object/relational mapping tool Kodo as OpenJPA. Prior to SolarMetric, he held positions at Accenture and Exxon. Choksi is a graduate of MIT (and was part of the often-publicized MIT Blackjack team) and holds a graduate degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

"Tasktop has a massive community and has reached the tipping point of commercial adoption," said Choksi. "I'm thrilled to join the company during this rapid growth phase and help more organizations realize the transformational productivity benefits of the task-focused collaboration paradigm."

TASKTOP INTRODUCES AGILE PLANNER FOR ECLIPSE AT AGILE 2010

New product enables Agile planning from the IDE and integrates multi-vendor Agile ALM solutions

ORLANDO (Agile 2010), Aug. 9, 2010 - Tasktop Technologies (www.tasktop.com), creators of Eclipse Mylyn and the leader in Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration and productivity, today announced the Tasktop Agile Planner, a new product that leverages Mylyn connectors to provide Agile teams the ability to manage existing defect and project management systems with planning support that spans across multiple vendors' solutions. The planner provides a rich and Eclipse-based user interface for accessing Tasktop Certified Agile project management integrations, including ThoughtWorks Studios' Mingle, IBM Rational Team Concert, Rally, CollabNet's ScrumWorks, Atlassian's JIRA and VersionOne.

The Tasktop Agile Planner provides a unique Eclipse-based native user interface for Windows, Mac and Linux that enhances the web-based interfaces of those solutions and additionally provides offline access to plans. Only the Tasktop Agile Planner offers cross-repository planning facilities that enable user stories to be associated with defects stored in external systems, such as HP Quality Center and Bugzilla. The Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) integration supports automatic linking between plan items and source code artifacts, and enables developers and team leads to create and monitor Agile development plans directly from Eclipse, making it effortless to maintain project status awareness and keep plans up-to-date.

"The problem of plans becoming disconnected from development activity is rampant in enterprise adoptions of Agile," said Mik Kersten, CEO of Tasktop Technologies and creator of the open source Eclipse Mylyn project. "The Tasktop Agile Planner addresses this by ensuring that all ALM systems involved with planning are linked and accessible directly from the Eclipse IDE, where developers and team leads spend the majority of their workday. When combined with the Tasktop developer tools this additional level of integration enhances the best-of-breed Agile project management solutions that we integrate with by ensuring that plans are a real-time representation of development activity."

Tasktop Agile Planner provides project managers, developers, and quality assurance team members with a lightweight yet complete planning platform for managing the entire Agile planning process. Core features of Tasktop Agile Planner include:

Task Planner: allows for plan creation of releases and iterations, supports plans that span multiple systems, for instance, a plan can include a story in Rally that is linked to defects in a JIRA repository (which also are displayed on the plan).

Task Board: provides a visual display of tasks not started, in progress and complete, right in the developer's IDE.

Burn Down Charts: provides a graphical representation of outstanding work over time.

Time Tracking: automates the tracking of time spent on stories and the ability to view of actual time tracking information recorded in the IDE on the plan

Availability
The Tasktop Agile Planner is available now in a beta version through Tasktop's early access program, with general availability set for mid-September. Learn more at http://tasktop.com/agile or contact Tasktop to join the early access program at http://tasktop.com/about/contactus/. Tasktop also will be demonstrating the product at its booth at Agile 2010 (www.agile2010.org). When released, the Tasktop Agile Planner will support in-IDE planning for Tasktop Certified ALM solutions, such as IBM Rational Team Concert, Atlassian JIRA, CollabNet's ScrumWorks, Rally, ThoughtWorks Studios' Mingle and VersionOne.

Largest conference on Agile software development to feature more than 200 sessions presented by industry luminaries and peer experts

ORLANDO, (Agile 2010), Aug. 9, 2010 - The Agile Alliance, (www.agilealliance.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of Agile software development principles and practices, today kicked off its ninth annual conference Aug, 9-13 in Orlando. This year's event drew more than 1,400 participants from around the globe as the growing Agile community comes together to learn and share ideas around experiences and best-practices.

"We are thrilled to see such enthusiasm and interest at this year's conference," said James Newkirk, Agile 2010 conference chair. "From beginners to development experts, Agile 2010 offers attendees useful tips, knowledge and best practices that they can put into immediate practice within their software development organizations."

More than 200 technical sessions and keynote presentations highlight this year's conference which takes place at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort. Highlights include keynotes by Dave Thomas and Mike Cohn, first day of invited industry luminaries and a wide range of sessions to meet the varying needs of Agile practitioners.

Newkirk says a key reason behind the sell-out success of Agile 2010 is that the conference connects attendees with the foremost leaders in the Agile domain, enriching the collective body of knowledge and influencing the line of thought in the field. It encourages debate and fosters innovative ideas based on real-world implementations for executives, managers, software development practitioners and researchers from labs and academia.

"We heard attendees' feedback from last year regarding how we could continue to improve the annual Agile conference and make it more useful to them," Newkirk explained. "We believe this year's conference delivers on that feedback, making it the best, most useful conference ever for advancing the practice of Agile software development principles and practices."

About the Agile Alliance
The Agile Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the concepts of Agile software development, as outlined in the (http://www.agilemanifesto.org/).

THOUGHTWORKS' JEZ HUMBLE AND MARTIN FOWLER TO DISCUSS CONTINUOUS DELIVERY AT AGILE 2010

New book from Humble and co-presentation at Agile 2010 with Fowler addresses how collaboration and automation delivers valuable software rapidly and reliably through Continuous Delivery

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 2, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios (www.thoughtworks-studios.com), a global leader in Agile ALM solutions, today announced new thought leadership initiatives around the latest methodology in Agile software - Continuous Delivery. Jez Humble and Martin Fowler will share insights at the Agile 2010 conference on how better collaboration between developers, testers and IT operations, along with automation of the build, deploy, test and release process, drives rapid, incremental delivery of valuable software without the stress, pain and risk of traditional methods. Humble will introduce his new book, Continuous Delivery (Addison-Wesley Signature Series, Foreword by Martin Fowler, Jez Humble and David Farley), at the conference and co-present with Fowler on the topic during a three-hour session on Mon., Aug. 9. (http://agile2010.agilealliance.org/schedule.html).

"Continuous Delivery addresses the need for businesses to deliver software rapidly and reliably so they can get valuable feedback from users. In the current economic environment, this represents a huge competitive advantage," said Humble, build and release principal for ThoughtWorks Studios and product manager for its recently launched Agile release management platform, GoTM. "Continuous Delivery focuses on the engineering practices that enable organizations to keep their software production-ready throughout the lifecycle of projects so they can be released on demand using a push-button process."

Set for availability at the Agile 2010 conference next week, the new book, Continuous Delivery, explains how delivering software to users can be a painful, risky and time-consuming process. It outlines the principles and technical practices that enable rapid, incremental delivery of high quality, valuable new functionality through the automation of the build, deployment and testing process. The book represents the culmination and collective experience gathered from large-scale enterprise Agile engagements conducted by ThoughtWorks' professional services teams. That same input helped shape the capabilities of GoTM, the recently launched Agile release management platform that enables Continuous Delivery. A free trial of GoTM is available at (http://www.thoughtworks-studios.com/user/register&destination=forms/form/go/download). To see a complete Table of Contents of Continuous Delivery please visit the publisher site: (www.informit.com/title/0321601912).

Jez Humble and Martin Fowler: Agile 2010, Continuous Delivery
At Agile 2010, Humble and Fowler will lead a three-hour tutorial session on the latest movement for enterprise Agile adoption, Continuous Delivery. The presentation will outline how businesses can deliver valuable new features to users as frequently as possible, while making sure releases are stable and well-tested. During the tutorial, Humble and Fowler will discuss how to deliver features rapidly and reliably through an automated build, deploy, test and release pattern called the deployment pipeline, and through better collaboration between developers, testers and operations. They will show how this unique approach of moving from release back through testing to development practices, and analyzing at each stage, can improve collaboration and increase feedback to make the delivery process as fast and efficient as possible.

"Continuous Delivery has been one of the most important practices that ThoughtWorkers have developed in our decade of applying Agile methods in enterprise IT," said Fowler, chief scientist for ThoughtWorks. "It's going to be a lot of fun working with Jez to spread the idea of deployment pipelines through the industry. The notion of Continuous Integration has got a lot of traction and we hope to extend this out to Continuous Delivery so businesses everywhere can take advantage of deployments that are both more frequent and less stressful."

A global leader in helping organizations adopt and leverage Agile development to transform IT and business operations, ThoughtWorks supports and has released some of the most widely used open source Agile tools (Selenium, CruiseControl and RubyWorks) that have played an integral role in Agile becoming the mainstream practice it is today. It also has helped lead the growth of now-established best practices for Agile development, including continuous integration, test-driven-development, automated functional testing, behavior-driven development and now, Continuous Delivery.

About ThoughtWorks Studios
ThoughtWorks Studios is the global leader in Agile ALM tools and training.

WHO: Mark Jarman, president
Inovonics
Inovonics is a leader in high-performance wireless sensor networks for commercial and life safety applications. (www.inovonics.com)

WHAT: The uncertainty of the housing market combined with the aging baby boom generation is prompting developers to plan hundreds of new senior housing units across the country. According to the American Health Care Association, the number of people aged 65 and older is supposed to almost double to more than 71 million by the year 2030. A key indicator of these rapidly growing trends can be seen in an announcement made last week by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) (http://portal.hud.gov/portal/page/portal/HUD/press/press_releases_media_advisories/2010/HUDNo.10-165) stating that it awarded almost $20 million to four states for conversion of existing multi-family apartment dwellings into assisted living senior care facilities. The monies will allow the elderly an opportunity to age in a place in familiar surroundings as they become older and require supportive services. However, the ability to move quickly while keeping costs down to convert these living quarters so that states can take advantage of the federal funding poses a challenge. Existing buildings need to have life safety devices and call systems installed to ensure that seniors can receive help and assistance immediately if needed. Traditionally, this required re-wiring of the existing structure, which is costly and labor- and time-intensive. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis. During the review process, HUD assesses several ranking factors including: the extent to which the conversion is needed by the persons that the project is intended to serve and the capacity of the project owner to carry out the conversion in a timely and effective manner. How do property owners who wish to take advantage of the federal funding overcome the potential challenges in making their existing apartment complexes "assisted living-ready?"

HOW: Commercial-grade wireless products provide the best solution for retrofitting a call system and life safety capabilities into existing facilities without pulling wire and disrupting the building's structure. Specifically designed for security and life safety applications, wireless sensor network products can be quickly and easily installed to provide emergency call and life safety capabilities for apartment buildings as well as be used in situations where the location of a mobile alarming device (duress pendant) can be identified anywhere across a building or campus. The result is building owners can retrofit their existing apartment complexes quickly at lower cost than traditional wired approaches and be assured of proven, reliable performance for their senior residents.

Company's dedication to providing top-notch customer service results in pay out of 31st consecutive bonus to its employees

BOULDER, Colo., August 2, 2010 - FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, today announced that its ongoing commitment to excellent customer service has resulted in continued growth and success for the company despite a tough economy. And, once again, FreeWave has shared its success with the 31st consecutive bonus payout to its employees. Two times a year, the company rewards its employees with a bonus, which it consistently has paid since FreeWave hired its first employee in 1995. The bonus is based on profitability, and is distributed in the form of both cash and contributions to employee-managed pension plans.

"We focus 110 percent on serving our customers every single day," explained Ken Granader, vice president of sales and company spokesperson at FreeWave. "We continue to bolster that support by adding new positions and retaining key employees to ensure we are keeping pace with our customers as their needs grow and evolve."

While news of continued layoffs, downsizing and reductions continue to make the news, FreeWave has steadily increased its investment in its future. The company has expanded into the fast-growing renewable energy industry, is further penetrating existing domestic markets, such as oil and gas, military, agriculture, and water / wastewater, and also is expanding into new international ones as well. In addition, as Granader says, the company has been adding new positions and staff to help continue building upon its stellar reputation as a provider of excellent customer service.

As evidence of the reliability of its products, FreeWave's family of military radios has surpassed more than 800,000 flight hours logged through its multiple OEM partners - the majority of which has been in support of combat missions for the U.S. Armed Services.

"We believe in controlling our own destiny," explained Granader. "Building, delivering and supporting the best products in the industry with a relentless pursuit for 100 percent customer satisfaction is the mantra we all share. It's our passion for excellence, and our ability to execute on that passion, that sets us apart."

THOUGHTWORKS STUDIOS ANNOUNCES 'GO' TO ENABLE BREAKTHROUGH AGILE APPROACH OF CONTINUOUS DELIVERY

Based on new wave of Agile practices from ThoughtWorks, Go enables organizations to overcome operational constraints to schedule releases according to business needs

SAN FRANCISCO and BANGALORE, July 20, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios www.thoughtworks-studios.com, a global leader in Agile ALM solutions, today announced GoTM, a new Agile release management platform that allows organizations to incrementally automate the entire build, test and deployment process and release software faster and more reliably. Go enables Continuous Delivery, making it possible for enterprises to move from a world where software releases are governed by operational constraints to a world where they can release according to their business needs. Pioneered by ThoughtWorks as a key element of large-scale Agile adoption, Continuous Delivery combines automation and engineering rigor with a heavy emphasis on collaboration to break down the prevalent organizational silos that segregate development, QA and IT operations.

"For many enterprises, software increasingly plays a critical role in creating a competitive advantage and building and maintaining value-added customer relationships. As an industry, Agile practices have had a major impact on our ability to create software faster to keep pace with business needs," said Cyndi Mitchell, managing director of ThoughtWorks Studios. "But many organizations still spend several weeks, and often months, putting software live in production - long after it's been declared 'ready' by the business. As Agile and ALM come together, Continuous Delivery and Go enable a next-generation Agile approach that delivers rapid and reliable releases as and when the business needs them."

Go is the upgrade path for ThoughtWorks Studios' continuous integration solution, Cruise. It joins Mingle (Agile project management) and Twist (Agile testing) to form ThoughtWorks Studios Adaptive ALMTM, the only holistic end-to-end solution built from the ground up to serve as a single platform for all aspects of the Agile software development and delivery lifecycle. It integrates requirements analysis, project and program management, test automation, quality assurance, and build and release management to achieve Continuous Delivery. Adaptive ALM is designed to be flexible to adapt to unique customer requirements while providing the structure needed to adopt Agile enterprise-wide and throughout the entire application delivery lifecycle.

As outlined in the upcoming book, Continuous Delivery (Addison-Wesley, Martin Fowler Signature Series, Jez Humble and Dave Farley), delivering software to users can be a painful, risky and time-consuming process. Continuous Delivery outlines the principles and technical practices that enable rapid, incremental delivery of high quality, valuable new functionality through the automation of the build, deployment and testing process. As a build and release principal for ThoughtWorks Studios, and product manager for Go, Humble has guided the technical vision behind Go to ensure it enables Continuous Delivery and fosters an environment where ideas can be turned into released software rapidly, regardless of the size or complexity of the project.

Go helps drive Continuous Delivery by providing organizations with a standard platform to automate, manage and control the entire build, deploy and release processes. It is a single system of record for managing and tracing each application's lifecycle from check-in to release, thus providing visibility into the production readiness of the entire software portfolio. The result is automated releases that are rapid and reliable and can be self-serviced at the push of a button.

Unique features of Go that enable Continuous Delivery include:

Environments: this first-of-its-kind capability lets organizations see what version of each application is in each environment, audit back to the source, and perform one-click deployments of any version of software.

Parallel Test Intelligence: speeds up tests by running them in parallel on a grid. Go's unique test intelligence lets organizations see exactly which tests broke, which check-in broke them, and who was responsible, even when they are run across a grid.

New UI for the DevOps world: enables easy centralized management of large numbers of projects and machines for both developers and IT operations.

Templates: allows for managing large numbers of projects within an Agile ALM environment. Templates allow organizations to manage branches and define re-usable workflow.

"Go uniquely addresses the needs of development and IT operations teams to have a common, integrated platform to manage their entire development, testing and release lifecycle," explained Humble, product manager of Go. "Go fills a crucial gap in many Agile implementations - providing the automation, collaboration and compliance capabilities to break down operational silos and turn software releases into frequent, reliable, non-events."

Go Availability
Go is available now as part of the Adaptive ALM platform from ThoughtWorks Studios. The Go Community edition is available as a free download directly from the ThoughtWorks Studios website, while the full-version, commercial Go Enterprise is available via license. For product, download and pricing information please visit: (www.thoughtworks-studios.com/go-agile-release-management).

THOUGHTWORKS STUDIOS' JEZ HUMBLE TO GIVE KEYNOTE AT THE AGILE TOKYO 2010 CONFERENCE

Humble's keynote to explain how continuous delivery bridges development with testers and IT operations

WHO: Jez Humble
Build and Release Principal
ThoughtWorks Studios
(www.thoughtworks-studios.com/)

Humble has extensive IT experience as a developer, sysadmin, consultant and manager, working with multiple platforms and technologies. Since 2004, he has worked for ThoughtWorks Studios in Beijing, Bangalore, London and San Francisco. He is the co-author of the forthcoming book Continuous Delivery (Addison-Wesley, 2010), and serves as product manager for Cruise, ThoughtWorks' continuous integration platform.

WHAT: Based on ThoughtWorks' years of experience running large-scale, distributed and cross-functional Agile projects, continuous delivery is a new agile methodology that focuses on automating the build, test and deployment process, and improving collaboration between development, testers and IT operations. The end goal is to enable rapid, reliable delivery of high quality, valuable new functionality to users, providing a fast return on IT investments in software.

Getting software released to users in large-scale environments is often a painful, risky, and time-consuming process. By following the principles and practices that form the basis of continuous delivery, developers, testers, and systems administrators can deliver software rapidly while improving quality and maintaining the stability of the live environment.

Humble, an expert in developing best practices around continuous software delivery, will explore such topics as automated testing, patterns for continuous deployment, value stream mapping, and the principles that enable rapid, reliable releases in large-scale Agile environments. In his keynote presentation, Humble will present a pattern called the "deployment pipeline." This enables every team member the luxury of receiving rapid feedback on the production readiness of the application every time a change is introduced.

THOUGHTWORKS STUDIOS ANNOUNCES NEW MINGLE EXTENSIONS TO HELP ENTERPRISES ADOPT AGILE PRACTICES

Mingle extensions help Agile development teams collaborate and work more efficiently with existing tools and processes

SAN FRANCISCO, July 12, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios (www.thoughtworks-studios.com), a global leader in Agile ALM tools and training, today announced a series of extensions for its Mingle® project management platform. The new integrations will help organizations synchronize data within distributed teams onto a common Agile development platform, resulting in better collaboration and visibility among business stakeholders, project managers, development, QA and technical support teams.

"As our enterprise customers adopt Agile they are challenged with a heterogeneous tools environment that prohibits them from fully maximizing existing IT investments. Leveraging Mingle's open APIs will make it easier for customers to adopt Mingle as their Agile project management platform and utilize both new and legacy systems," said Adam Monago, VP of client services for ThoughtWorks Studios. "We will continue to respond to customer and community input to improve Agile ALM collaboration between globally distributed teams, bringing them more closely together to improve the productivity, visibility and success of Agile programs."

The new Mingle extensions created and supported by ThoughtWorks Studios are priced separately and available as add-ons to existing Mingle licenses. The new extensions include:

Mingle Connector for JIRA - this new integration automatically ties tasks completed in JIRA with Mingle. It provides bi-directional updates between JIRA and Mingle - whereby defects, bugs, feature requests and other tasks created within JIRA are tightly integrated into the Agile project management workflow. In combination, organizations using the Mingle Connector for JIRA can manage and prioritize customer requirements through Mingle and gain full visibility and traceability into the status, progress, completion and reporting of issues - or feature-requests - within each software iteration. (http://community.thoughtworks.com/posts/ab8c8ee3a7)

Mingle Card Prioritizer - provides product managers and business analysts with the ability to rapidly prioritize lists of epics, features and stories. Users can group cards into buckets and use drag-and-drop ranking capability to quickly sort a large backlog.

Dependency Tracker - gives program and project managers the tools needed to manage functional dependencies within and across projects, providing visual cues to indicate when commitments have been satisfied.

Test Recorder - helps QA departments that are using Mingle to manage test cases the ability to capture test results on Mingle cards and report on pass/fail rates without leaving the platform.

Mingle Mercurial Plug-in for distributed Source Control Management (SCM) - provides engineers with the power to manage the Mercurial Distributed Source Control Management solution within Mingle.
