CambridgeSoft uses JNBridgePro to simplify the complex task of Java and .NET interoperability

BOULDER, Colo., March 3, 2010 - JNBridge, (www.jnbridge.com), the award-winning provider of Java and .NET Framework-based interoperability tools, enabled developers at CambridgeSoft Corporation (www.cambridgesoft.com) to easily integrate Java-based digital signature APIs into their .NET-based electronic lab notebook product. CambridgeSoft supplies discovery, collaboration, and knowledge enterprise solutions, desktop software, scientific databases and consulting services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries.

Using JNBridgePro, developers at CambridgeSoft now are easily able to integrate third-party Java-based digital signature technology into the .NET infrastructure of E-Notebook - CambridgeSoft's electronic lab notebook software - to quickly meet business and compliance requirements of a major pharmaceutical customer.

"It takes an incredible amount of work to solve such a complex interoperability problem," said Alfred Nehme, director of application development at CambridgeSoft. "JNBridgePro provided a level of Java and .NET integration that otherwise would have been very difficult and time-consuming to do ourselves."

Protecting intellectual property (IP) and adhering to government regulations are crucial requirements for organizations engaged in biotechnology, drug discovery and chemical research. To comply with record keeping requirements in laboratory notes, CambridgeSoft implements digital signature and efficient archiving capabilities in its E-Notebook product. Using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology, E-Notebook can embed digital signatures and timestamps, creating a reliable electronic record that cannot be falsified.

Recently a major multinational pharmaceutical customer wanted to use CambridgeSoft's E-Notebook, but required a different Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for digital signatures. The customer needed their chemists to sign experiments related to drug development using the same third-party, Java-based digital signature infrastructure that was already deployed in other parts of the company. To deliver this functionality, CambridgeSoft needed to integrate the required Java PKI API with E-Notebook, which is based on a .NET architecture. CambridgeSoft used JNBridgePro to simplify the interoperability between Java and .NET, allowing E-Notebook to call the Java APIs from .NET and thus fulfill their customer's requirements.

CambridgeSoft project leaders now are easily able to embed the needed Java digital signature APIs rapidly into the E-Notebook application. JNBridgePro includes proxy generation plug-ins for Eclipse and Visual Studio IDEs, as well as an intuitive standalone GUI. Using the GUI, CambridgeSoft developers created proxies for the Java APIs that simplified access to the needed Java classes.

"JNBridgePro enables developers to mix and match technologies between Java and .NET," said Wayne Citrin, CTO of JNBridge. "Customers appreciate the ability to retain their current investments while building applications that incorporate best-of-breed components from both platforms."

For more information on JNBridge Pro or JNBridge JMS Adapters for .NET and BizTalk please visit: (www.jnbridge.com).

About JNBridge
JNBridge connects Java and .NET Framework-based components and applications together with tools and adapters that are fast, simple to use and remove the complexities of cross-platform interoperability.

Latest update to Adaptive ALMTM suite drives productivity of QA, developers and business analysts, reduces development rework while keeping pace with rapid Agile releases

SAN FRANCISCO and BANGALORE, March 1, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios, (www.thoughtworks-studios.com) a global leader in Agile ALM and training, today announced the latest version of its Agile test automation solutions, Twist® 2.0. Designed to manage the rapid pace of software testing within Agile environments, Twist 2.0 helps testers, developers and business analysts work together to ensure testing is highly efficient and collaborative, resulting in faster release cycles of quality applications.

"It's very common for people involved in software testing to spend more time trying to keep their automated tests in synch with development rather than actually testing applications," said Cyndi Mitchell, managing director, for ThoughtWorks Studios. "Twist provides a framework for test automation and test-driven development that allows all stakeholders to build test suites and scenarios using plain English, thereby mitigating the complexity of traditional test automation."

Twist offers simplicity and an intuitive user experience to create highly robust and reusable test automation frameworks for both manual and functional automated tests. An integral part of ThoughtWorks Studios' Adaptive ALM solution, Twist provides continuous visibility into testing activities across distributed projects and teams.

Unlike traditional test tools, Twist uses Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Domain Specific Language (DSL) to allow test automation specialists, developers and business analysts to work collaboratively as a means of ensuring testing efforts match the exact, intended functionality of new applications. This unique approach of using the English language to build test scripts expands the testing process to the "business side" of software development, reducing development re-work and faulty software that does not meet strategic business goals. Twist allows teams to adjust and/or react to change effectively through an open and flexible framework conducive to testing within short sprints or iterations. Ultimately, it allows the testing effort to keep pace with the increasingly rapid rate of application delivery.

New features in Twist 2.0 include:

Hybrid Test Execution - allows for manual and automated test steps within the same scenario. This improves collaboration and execution efficiency of both automated and manual testing efforts.

Improved Workflow Reuse - provides high level test scenarios and steps (manual and automated) that can be reused and shared within and across multiple projects.

Groovy Scripting - supports the Groovy dynamic Agile language for Java. It makes modern programming features available to Twist users with almost zero learning curve.

Additional Web Driver support for Sahi - testers have the option of using Sahi or Selenium for Web testing. The benefit of using Sahi is that it abstracts out most difficulties that testers face while automating Web applications.

SWTBOT support - allows Twist users to test Java SWT-based applications

- Data Driven Scenarios - build data-driven tests on the fly for increased test coverage

ThoughtWorks Studios is the products division of the industry leading Agile consultancy ThoughtWorks®. Its Adaptive ALMTM solution includes Mingle® (project management), Twist® (test automation) and Cruise® (release management), to manage all aspects of the software development and delivery lifecycle - from requirements definition and portfolio management to test automation, quality assurance and release management.

Twist supports Agile ALM by combining requirements and test specification management and creation, and by providing manual and test automation to ensure quality throughout the application lifecycle. It plays a significant role in ThoughtWorks Studios' Adaptive ALM by providing a robust, reusable, multi-platform testing capability that ensures testing keeps pace with application development. Twist increases visibility and awareness of Agile testing activities by providing test results for processes managed by Mingle and Cruise. Together with Mingle, it connects directly to Mingle repositories and links story cards directly to Twist test scenarios. This provides full traceability of test and requirements coverage. When integrated with Cruise, Twist can export all of the necessary libraries to run test scenarios and suites. This allows tests to be run as part of a build (with reports of test results).

WHAT: "The Evolution of Data Collection for Gas Measurement"

In our evolving world of oil and gas production, more data is being requested more often. Almost continuous polling and higher transmission speeds are requiring communications systems to evolve from a single network solution into multiple networks, each of these networks provides layers of communication. To create these multiple layers requires multiple products. These layers must have common interfaces and the ability to pass data seamlessly between them. This presentation will discuss how the technologies for gas measurement have evolved and attendees will learn best practices for reliable and efficient data collection today.

Boulder, Colorado -- February 19, 2010 -- With more than 400 million active users, and 50% of those logging in everyday, Facebook, has become a very important conversational tool in a company's marketing portfolio. Add to that, with three million active Pages in Facebook - simply having a basic page design is no longer enough. Room 214 was hired by Pearl Izumi to create a unique custom Facebook page design to deliver content and functionality that is both attractive and resonates well with their fans.

Key Facts

New FGR2-PE combines both serial and Ethernet wireless connectivity for key Smart Grid applications such as distribution automation

BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 16, 2010 -- FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, today announced the release of the new FGR2-PE, a data radio ideal for Smart Grid and renewable energy, that offers industrial serial and Ethernet wireless connectivity using license-free spread spectrum for data communication over long distances. In addition, the FGR2-PE is well suited for similar SCADA applications in other vertical markets such as oil and gas or water/wastewater.
The FGR2-PE is compatible with other FreeWave FGR plus family radios and offers users a second, switched Ethernet port as well as two serial ports to meet the demands of customers' wireless automation requirements. The future-proof combination of two serial ports and two switched Ethernet ports offers customers the ability to transition from serial to Ethernet data communication without having to replace their wireless communication hardware down the road, or operate both serial and Ethernet communication independently and simultaneously on the same platform. This cost-effective flexibility of the FGR2-PE product also reduces the need for additional hardware.

"The FGR2-PE is an ideal platform for the wireless transmission of critical data and offers the same proven reliability and quality that our customers have come to know and expect in our radios," said Matthias van Doorn, product manager Ethernet and licensed radio systems at FreeWave. "In particular, our utility customers appreciate its industry-leading RF performance as well as the versatility and flexibility of the new FGR2-PE to support distribution automation, alternative energy applications like wind and solar power, and many other telemetry and SCADA applications within the Smart Grid."
Additional key benefits of the FGR2-PE include:

Enterprise customers are benefiting by integrating project/program management, test and release management into a unified solution for large-scale Agile development

LONDON AND SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 2, 2010 - ThoughtWorks Studios, (www.thoughtworks-studios.com) a global leader in Agile ALM tools and training, today announced the continued adoption of its Adaptive ALMTM solution that helps organizations streamline and automate the entire Agile software development lifecycle. During the last quarter of 2009, the company closed several enterprise licenses for Adaptive ALM, an integrated solution comprised of Mingle® (project management), Twist® (test automation) and Cruise® (release management) products. These companies included, The Trainline (www.thetrainline.com) and Trader Media Group (www.autotrader.co.uk).

"Organizations looking to extend Agile practices deeper into the software development process realize that mastering project management is only one step in building out a truly Agile enterprise," explained Cyndi Mitchell, managing director for ThoughtWorks Studios. "With Adaptive ALM, a growing number of customers are moving to integrate core engineering practices to create a richer and more complete Agile program that drives productivity and improves software quality."

ThoughtWorks Studios is the products division of the industry leading Agile consultancy ThoughtWorks®. It developed Adaptive ALM to address the shortcomings of traditional ALM solutions that lack the functionality to effectively manage the hybrid nature of Agile practices. ThoughtWorks Studios' Adaptive ALM product suite delivers a fully automated solution that supports all aspects of a software development and delivery lifecycle - from requirements definition and portfolio management to test automation, quality assurance and release management.

Based on deep experience developing some of the most successful and sophisticated Agile projects in the world, all ThoughtWorks Studios' software adapts to unique customer dynamics and allows organizations to determine preferred workflows and processes. This flexible, "work as you like" approach to building out a complete ALM program promotes the use of both new and existing processes and best practices across the enterprise. It also removes operational silos and, through cross-functional automation, effectively meets strategic business objectives regardless of changing parameters.

The most popular Scrum management tool continues to be guided
by user input from the Danube Community Portal

BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 1, 2010-Danube Technologies, Inc., (www.danube.com) the leader in project management tools and training for the Scrum project management framework, today announced the latest release of its ScrumWorks® Pro product. ScrumWorks Pro 4.3 includes improvements to the tool's Sprint Burndown Chart, Team Member Load Report and filtering with Themes. The release, which is the third upgrade since the enterprise-ready ScrumWorks Pro 4 was launched in Aug, 2009, represents Danube's commitment to responding quickly to customer feedback through the Danube Community Portal (http://community.danube.com).

"The level of participation among our users on the Danube Community Portal has been staggering," said Laszlo Szalvay, president and CEO of Danube. "Hearing from our user-base in such a direct way has allowed us to focus on improvements that generate immediate value for our users as well as accelerate the rate at which we deliver upgrades. In my mind, this is an illustration of what can happen when the makers of a tool and its community of users can unite around a common goal-improving project and program management with Scrum."

New features in ScrumWorks Pro 4.3 include:

Upgraded Sprint Burndown Chart. ScrumWorks Pro's Sprint Burndown Chart receives a major upgrade with the addition of a second line: tasks done/not done. This allows teams that do not use task-level estimation to nevertheless "burn down" tasks in Sprints.

Tasks No Longer Require Estimates. To help support task burndown in the Sprint Burndown Chart, tasks no longer require estimates.

Enhanced Team Member Load Report. This sprint-level report now displays the total task hours yet to be allocated to team members. This helps teams better visualize the total unallocated capacity in the sprint at any time.

Sub-Total for Selected Product Backlog Items and Tasks. Now users can select a sub-set of the product backlog or sprint from the Product window and receive an instant sub-total of the number of PBIs/Tasks and their corresponding effort estimates in the new status bar result in no more manual math.

Editor Enhancements. The work item editor now includes the item's key for easier identification.

Expanded Theme Filtering. When filtering using Themes, users now have the option to "exclude" selected Themes from filtered or highlighted results.

Fixes. Several issues have been resolved, including a security issue related to Active Directory installations configured to accept empty passwords, Java Web Start caching, and more.

Pricing and Availability
ScrumWorks Pro 4.3 is available now and can be purchased directly from Danube. Pricing is offered through an on-site, per-seat subscription license that starts at $289-per-user, per-year, or less than $25 per-user, per-month, as well as an on-site, per-seat fully paid license for $500. For more information on ScrumWorks Pro, visit www.danube.com/scrumworks/pro.

BOULDER, Colo. - Jan. 27, 2010 - Boulder, Colorado-based social media agency Room 214 (www.room214.com) has selected Crimson Hexagon (www.crimsonhexagon.com) as a key strategic partner, providing next-generation opinion analysis monitoring to extend Room 214's social media research and business intelligence offerings.

"Room 214 was one of two early enterprise agency partners we began working with in 2009," said Candace Fleming, CEO of Crimson Hexagon. "Room 214's product feedback, understanding of our platform, and analyst resources make them an ideal partner around delivering and extending the value of our software."

Room 214 has been an early practitioner of interpretive analysis from user generated content and aggregated online data since 2006. The social media agency remains tool-agnostic, and is leveraging Crimson Hexagon's monitoring platform to help large brands better distill opinions and meaning from social networking properties and online conversations. "We've been able to distinguish Room 214 in the business intelligence space by choosing the right technology partners and focusing on how to make the data actionable," stated Jason Cormier, Managing Partner of Room 214. "From a software perspective, quickly identifying insightful business trends and opportunities requires more than what most offer."

Room 214's interest in Crimson Hexagon stemmed from its unique technology which enables Room 214 analysts to distill meaning about brands, products, services, markets and competitors from online conversations.

"Crimson Hexagon's opinion monitors go far beyond automated sentiment which is often unreliable and only provides a breakdown of positive, negative or neutral conversations," states James Clark, co-founder of Room 214. "In stark contrast to straight up sentiment analysis, Crimson Hexagon data provides the intelligence to drill deeper into relevant opinions in the online conversation to better align marketing strategies and initiatives that incorporate the voice of the customer."

As strategic partners, Room 214 and Crimson Hexagon are working closely together on product feedback, training and joint marketing and selling initiatives.

About Crimson Hexagon
Crimson Hexagon helps big brands and small businesses understand what the online conversation really means for them. Based on groundbreaking work conducted at Harvard University's Institute for Quantitative Social Science, Crimson Hexagon is the only commercially available listening platform that distills meaning - with mathematical precision - from the cloudy torrent of opinion, information and data available online. While a growing number of "listening platforms" can count keyword appearances in the online conversation, Crimson Hexagon is unique in its ability to reveal the nature of that conversation: the key themes, their relative size, and how they change over time. We don't just count the dots - we uncover the patterns.

About Room 214
Room 214 is a social media agency offering online word of mouth marketing services that include: viral and social media campaign development and execution; online business intelligence and research, reputation management and brand monitoring; influencer identification and blogger outreach; social applications development, including Facebook, Twitter, iPhone and custom apps; Post Zinger blog and podcast development; RSS/syndicating online press rooms; search engine optimization; Google-certified search marketing and landing page development.

Based on community feedback, leading conference on Agile development to offer a tighter agenda to bring greater focus to event

PORTLAND Jan. 19, 2010 - The Agile Alliance, (www.agilealliance.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of Agile software development principles and practices, today announced the "call for speakers" for Agile 2010 is now open. Set for Aug. 9 - 13 in Nashville, (http://agile2010.agilealliance.org). Agile 2010 is the leading international conference on Agile methods in software development, bringing together many disciplines in the fields of information systems and software development to foster the exchange of fresh ideas and best practices.

"This year's conference will examine the latest theory, practical applications and implications of Agile methods," said Jim Newkirk, Agile 2010 conference chair. "The Agile approach focuses on delivering business value early in the project lifetime and being able to incorporate emergent requirements. The Agile conference is not about a single methodology or approach, but rather provides a forum for the exchange of information regarding all Agile development technologies."

The Agile 2010 submission process will be somewhat different from past years. In previous years submissions were submitted to individual stages for consideration. This year, interested presenters will submit abstracts that address one of the broad conference themes - Business, Technical, and Leadership & Organization. Once submitted, the program committee will identify and forward abstracts to the most appropriate stage for consideration.

In addition, to help ensure the conference offers sessions that vary in experience level and address topics of interest shared by past attendees, the program committee will invite specific sessions. These 180 minute sessions will be presented on the first day of the conference and will be selected based on the following criteria (in priority order):
1. The session content fills a specific hole in the program, either from a pure content perspective or from an experience level.
2. The session provides a fresh perspective on a particular topic.
3. The presenter scored in the top 20% with regard to feedback at last year's conference.

"The changes we have made to the speaking submission process aims to build on the success of past conferences and ensure that all members of the Agile community - regardless of experience level - have focused sessions to attend," said Newkirk. "I invite anyone interested in speaking at this year's conference to visit our main Web site and also review a more detailed outline of this year's process on the Agile 2010 blog at (http://agile2010.wordpress.com/)."
The submission system in open now and will remain open until Feb. 19, 2010. For more information or to submit a presentation please visit: http://agile2010.agilealliance.org/index.html.

About the Agile Alliance
The Agile Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the concepts of Agile software development, as outlined in the (http://www.agilemanifesto.org/). With nearly 6,000 members located around the globe, the Agile Alliance is driven by the principles of Agile methodologies and the value delivered to developers, organizations and end users.
