Rawsthorne to join leading software architects to discuss benefits of incremental software development

Rawsthorne has been developing software for more than 25 years and is an accomplished manager, mentor, coach, trainer, consultant, and architect. The projects he has worked on range from e-commerce, to databases, military avionics and Air Traffic Control. He is a Certified Scrum Trainer and holds a PhD in mathematics from the University of Illinois. He is currently co-writing a book on Story-driven agile development that is due out in 2008.

What: Incremental Architecture in an Agile Organization

It's a classic agile question: can you do good design incrementally and iteratively? Frequently, agile software development methods are tagged as "architecturally weak" and "disconnected from the realities of delivering large systems." Despite this, however, many leading software architects are arguing for incremental development of architectures.

During this panel discussion, Portland-area agile thought leaders will discuss the benefits of incremental development of architecture in the larger program and enterprise context, as well as approaches to better aligning businesses with architecture goals.
