Tight times and continued adoption of Scrum lead to dramatic increase in registered users downloads – 10,000 in the first two months of 2009
BELLEVUE, Wash. – March 30, 2009, Danube Technologies, Inc., http://www.danube.com, the leader in software and training for the Scrum method of agile software development, today announced demand and registrations for its free Scrum management tool, ScrumWorks Basic, has spiked dramatically since January 1, 2009. The company has seen more than 10,000 software professionals and development teams register for ScrumWorks Basic during January and February alone, marking a 60 percent increase in unique registrations for Basic compared to the same time period last year. The free download of ScrumWorks Basic is available at http://www.danube.com/scrumworks/basic/download.
“Given the state of the economy, we’re not surprised to see a sudden rise in popularity of our free tool,” said Laszlo Szalvay, president of Danube Technologies, Inc. “This trend also signals the continued rise in Scrum adoption and how incremental approaches to project management are helping organizations weather tough times. As one of the first free Scrum tools made available to the agile community, ScrumWorks Basic continues to provide value to organizations looking to improve software development practices and the overall efficiency of the business.”
ScrumWorks, offered through the free Basic version and commercial Pro edition, is the only software tool designed from the ground-up to be 100 percent dedicated to Scrum success. Launched at XP Universe in August 2004, it allows teams, product owners and stakeholders to manage every aspect of Scrum at the program, product release and sprint levels. It offers role-based project tracking, reporting and requirements traceability for building successful Scrum projects based on best practices. ScrumWorks Basic provides the “basic” functionality needed to run Scrum projects, including project management, drag-and-drop prioritization of work, sprint tracking and management, basic reporting and data accessibility.
