DESPITE TOUGH ECONOMY, FREEWAVE TECHNOLOGIES SHINES

Company’s dedication to providing top-notch customer service results in pay out of 31st consecutive bonus to its employees

BOULDER, Colo., August 2, 2010 – FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, today announced that its ongoing commitment to excellent customer service has resulted in continued growth and success for the company despite a tough economy. And, once again, FreeWave has shared its success with the 31st consecutive bonus payout to its employees. Two times a year, the company rewards its employees with a bonus, which it consistently has paid since FreeWave hired its first employee in 1995. The bonus is based on profitability, and is distributed in the form of both cash and contributions to employee-managed pension plans.

“We focus 110 percent on serving our customers every single day,” explained Ken Granader, vice president of sales and company spokesperson at FreeWave. “We continue to bolster that support by adding new positions and retaining key employees to ensure we are keeping pace with our customers as their needs grow and evolve.”

While news of continued layoffs, downsizing and reductions continue to make the news, FreeWave has steadily increased its investment in its future. The company has expanded into the fast-growing renewable energy industry, is further penetrating existing domestic markets, such as oil and gas, military, agriculture, and water / wastewater, and also is expanding into new international ones as well. In addition, as Granader says, the company has been adding new positions and staff to help continue building upon its stellar reputation as a provider of excellent customer service.

As evidence of the reliability of its products, FreeWave’s family of military radios has surpassed more than 800,000 flight hours logged through its multiple OEM partners – the majority of which has been in support of combat missions for the U.S. Armed Services.

“We believe in controlling our own destiny,” explained Granader. “Building, delivering and supporting the best products in the industry with a relentless pursuit for 100 percent customer satisfaction is the mantra we all share. It’s our passion for excellence, and our ability to execute on that passion, that sets us apart.”

FREEWAVE TECHNOLOGIES CONTINUES STRONG GROWTH AND INVESTMENT IN PRODUCTS AND EMPLOYEES

FreeWave’s ongoing success leads to its 30th consecutive bonus payout to employees

BOULDER, Colo. – August 12, 2009 -FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, continues its solid record of growth and investments through the first half of 2009. As has been true for the past 14 years, the company shares its success with its employees through regular, twice-a-year bonus payouts. The most recent, paid on July 23, was the 30th consecutive bonus payment since 1995. Payments are based on company profitability and individual performance.

Despite economic challenges, FreeWave also continues to invest in hiring, new product development and market expansion. For example, FreeWave expects to increase it’s year-to-year headcount and is looking to fill several sales and product management positions. In addition, FreeWave has issued a steady stream of new products this year, including the IMCP 2.4 GHz, FGR2 Series; LRS455 Series; Tool Suite; and, most recently, new additions to its industry-leading MM2 radios. The company is expanding into new markets as well, both geographically and vertically.

“We continue to be successful, despite challenging times for many, because of the dedication and hard work of our employees,” explained Ken Granader, vice president of sales at FreeWave. “Each and every day our employees give 100 percent plus to our organization, and especially to our customers, who are the reason we continue to thrive.”

Just more than four months ago, FreeWave also gave its employees the third installment of a $9 million equity bonus payout. This one-time bonus, part of a $113 million private-equity transaction, was given by Company Founders Steve Wulchin and Jonathan Sawyer to reward their employees for their contributions. This payout was in addition to the ongoing bi-annual bonus payout employees regularly receive.

The bonuses come in the midst of an economy that continues to struggle, with many companies continuing to make major budget cuts – including the elimination of bonus programs. In the eyes of Co-founders Wulchin and Sawyer, however, this program is essential in maintaining FreeWave’s leading position in the wireless data radio market. Wulchin and Sawyer always have believed that in order to succeed, they need to make ongoing investments in their employees.

“It’s deeply rooted in our philosophy,” explained Granader. “Work hard and invest in the things that really matter. To us, that is our customers and employees. To this day, it’s never failed us.”
