Inovonics Announces GE Security Panel Direct Interface

LOUISVILLE, Colo., May 13, 2010- Inovonics, (www.inovonics.com) the leader in commercial grade wireless security products, today announced the availability of the EN7286NX serial receiver interface, enabling up to 192 points of its EchoStream network to communicate directly with GE NetworX control panels.

The interface is compatible with the NX-4, NX-6, NX-8 and NX-8E panels and enables individual wireless point annunciation, assigning each device its own zone and enabling users to identify exactly where an alarm notification is originating. Before the EN7286NX was added to Inovonics’ network, add-on receivers were utilized to integrate wireless points to security panels, often times requiring the grouping of several wireless end-points into a single zone.

“It’s easier than ever now to add Inovonics commercial wireless to the GE control panels” said Mark Jarman, Inovonics president. “Our add-on receivers have always offered installers the ability to enhance any system with wireless capabilities, but the direct panel interface allows installers to take full advantage of their preferred panel and the Inovonics wireless network at the same time.”

An additional benefit to the installer is transparency from the panel programming perspective. The manner in which transmitters/zones are programmed at the panel isn’t altered from traditional wired installations.

“Wireless systems have always been easy, labor-saving installations,” said Jarman. “As installations get more and more demanding, wireless companies need to continue to innovate to keep up with the scale of complexity-this panel interface is in line with that philosophy.”

The EN7286NX also marks the final piece dealers have been asking for to complete an Inovonics system from the distributor. “Today a dealer can walk into their local distributor to get the GE panel, the interface, and all the wireless points and walk out with a complete system that is Inovonics ready.”

For more information about the EN7286NX serial receiver interface, visit (www.inovonics.com/geinterface.aspx) or join the conversation at (www.facebook.com/inovonicswireless).
