COLLABNET SUBVERSION EDGE 4.0, TRAINING AND SERVICES, AND WEBINAR SERIES PROVIDE COMPLETE SUPPORT FOR SUBVERSION 1.8

CollabNet continues to lead enterprise adoption of Subversion and open-source SCM

BRISBANE, Calif., June 19, 2013 – CollabNet® (www.collab.net), the leader for Enterprise Cloud Development, today announced that its new Subversion Edge 4.0 provides complete support for the Apache Subversion® version 1.8 that was released yesterday. The free, single-click upgrade helps improve operational efficiencies, developer productivity and quality of code. CollabNet’s Subversion training and services offerings also support the new release. In addition, the company is presenting a free webinar series on open-source SCM success, starting with: What’s New in Subversion 1.8 on Thurs., June 20.

To download Subversion Edge 4.0, available now, please visit: (www.collab.net/svnedge)

“The latest version of Subversion delivers strong enhancements in merging and easier centralized configuration, as well as reducing the storage space needed for repositories. Subversion continues to lead the market in open-source SCM usage,” said Mark Phippard, senior director, Subversion engineering for CollabNet. “Subversion Edge makes it very easy to adopt the new Subversion release via a simple installation process for new users, or a one-click upgrade for existing users. Additionally, Subversion Edge ensures that you have an optimally configured server so that you can enjoy all the benefits that the new release offers.”

Subversion Edge 4.0 now also includes the new Apache HTTP Server 2.4 series, extending the value of Subversion 1.8 through a free, one-click upgrade. Subversion 1.8 helps improve operational efficiencies for enterprise administrators through the automation and management of standardized policies, and improves productivity since developers no longer need to maintain the policies themselves. Working copy move/renames are now recorded as first-class operations for improved quality of code assurance, and Subversion is made more Agile-friendly due to ease-of-use improvements and better merging capabilities. CollabNet updated its training, services and support for Subversion 1.8 as well.

Created by CollabNet in 2000, Subversion is an open source version control system that is used by more than 5 million developers around the globe. The project and software have seen incredible success since being launched, with continued widespread adoption in both the open source community and the enterprise world. CollabNet Subversion Edge offers a complete certified stack of Apache HTTP Server, Apache Subversion and ViewVC, along with a browser-based interface for ease-of-use and management. It keeps all components current with auto-updates delivered straight to the web browser and ensures cohesive functionality of the integrated tool suite.

Availability
Subversion Edge 4.0, bundled with Apache Subversion 1.8.0, Apache HTTP Server 2.4.4 and ViewVC 1.1.20, is available as a free open-source tool or commercially with a support contract. To download Subversion Edge please visit: (www.collab.net/svnedge).

JNBridge Company Executive William Heinzman To Outline Hadoop Integration Practices At Hadoop Summit 2013

Heinzman to provide overview of current cross-platform technologies in relation to design requirements, architecture and implementation

Who:

William Heinzman

Senior Software Engineer

JNBridge

Heinzman has more than 20 years of experience developing manufacturing test, distributed job scheduling and IT software products. He currently develops interoperability solutions between Java EE and .NET. Heinzman has a degree in Geophysics and a Masters of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

What:

Windows on Hadoop: Integrating with Microsoft Windows Desktop and the Apache Hadoop Linux Platform

With its many applications and available presentation frameworks, the Microsoft Windows desktop can enable enterprise-wide business intelligence tools providing query, analysis and reporting in a common and familiar environment. However, integrating the desktop, particularly to .NET, can be challenging, especially when cross-platform interoperability to Apache Hadoop running on Linux platforms is a requirement. Cross-platform interoperability technologies must not only be flexible and robust, they must also maximize ease of development and enable minimum time to deployment, particularly where silos of expertise for Hadoop/Linux/Java and Windows/.NET are present, but separate, in the enterprise. This session will look at current cross-platform technologies – both = open source and third-party – in relation to design requirements, architecture and implementation. Using the available interoperability technologies with the current APIs in the Hadoop stack for HDFS, HBase and Hive, the presentation will place emphasis on the integration ease, required expertise, robustness and life cycle management necessary for the enterprise to deploy custom desktop front-ends for Hadoop.

COLLABNET’S NEW TEAMFORGE 7 AND TEAMFORGE ORCHESTRATE SPEED CYCLE TIMES AND IMPROVE COLLABORATION FOR AGILE ALM AND DEVOPS

New TeamForge Orchestrate connects tools, and turns disparate tasks into associated activities for cross-functional collaboration and visual traceability

BRISBANE, Calif., June 18, 2013, CollabNet (www.collab.net), the leader for Enterprise Cloud Development, today announced TeamForge 7 and TeamForge Orchestrate – major new capabilities for its open ALM platform. TeamForge Orchestrate is a new add-on product that helps software organizations connect disparate tools and activities, and produce cross-functional associations and visual traceability throughout the application lifecycle. TeamForge 7 includes Adaptive Planning Boards for hybrid Agile-based project management and Lifecycle Dashboards for centralized visibility across projects and tools. Together, TeamForge 7 and TeamForge Orchestrate provide IT organizations with an open and extendable ALM platform for enterprise Agile and DevOps that greatly reduces cycle times – while providing the freedom and control to use a range of open source and commercial tools in unison.

“With the advent of mobile and cloud, the days of the heavyweight and monolithic toolsets to build and deploy software are over, making room for a federated ALM platform that coalesces all of the assets, data and activities that occur throughout software delivery,” said Bill Portelli, co-founder and CEO for CollabNet. “TeamForge 7 and Orchestrate address the challenges resulting from today’s increasingly complex software environments, allowing cross-tool data and cross-team activities to flow in a structured, traceable and visual manner – empowering organizations to improve code quality through better collaboration and traceability”

Today’s software delivery environments are increasingly fragmented due to the open nature of development and the proliferation of tools and processes. New applications and delivery platforms, such as cloud, mobile, social and big data mandate new strategies for ALM success. Synchronizing cross-functional data from the tools teams want to use, and coordinating activities that occur from “idea through deployment,” is critical to Agile and DevOps success.

TeamForge continues to solve the dilemma of having to choose a monolithic platform over best-of-breed point tools. With Orchestrate, it collects and stores metadata related to key lifecycle activities and draws associations between disparate tools for the ultimate purpose of traceability. This centralized system of record connects previously unconnected ALM activities, syndicating human and machine-generated transactions to bridge IT silos and provide context between tasks. The result is cross-functional and automated ALM traceability – presented in an intuitive graphical interface – that is critically important for software engineers and a capability that is sorely lacking in today’s commercial tools that provide only simplistic traceability support.

“The need to collaborate across tools and processes has never been stronger, and organizations realize this is a must requirement if they want to scale Agile and bridge development and operations via DevOps,” said Melinda Ballou, principal analyst at IDC. “Coordinating point tool choices and providing the centralized and social collaboration needed to manage change in a structured fashion are key elements for successful innovation and execution.”

TeamForge Orchestrate offers:
• Control Center for Delivery Pipelines: creates traceability across disparate tools, enabling graphical traceability of delivery pipelines across tools and clouds to measurably reduce cycle times.
• Social Activity Streams: embedded social activity streams link comments and discussions to events, data and activities to provide context through continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Agent-based APIs: an easy-to-use integration model provides traceability links between TeamForge and third-party tools. This eliminates “vendor lock-in.” Pre-packaged integrations include Git and Subversion, Jenkins, TeamCity, ReviewBoard and others. This tool ecosystem can be expanded with community-built integrations.

TeamForge 7 offers:
• Adaptive Planning Boards: helps teams facilitate product and release planning regardless of development method – Agile, traditional or hybrid in-houses processes – in real-time and through a flexible drag-and-drop framework.
• Enterprise Lifecycle Dashboards: a range of pre-packaged and customizable lifecycle reports provide a holistic view across projects, tools and platforms.
• Additional features: include greatly enhanced usability with 3x faster workflows, updated support for Git/Gerrit and more.

CROWDIT LEADS CROWDFUNDING REVOLUTION, LAUNCHES INDUSTRY’S FIRST SITE TO INCLUDE BUSINESS NETWORKING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

CrowdIt launches with 140 projects, takes aim at industry norms by adding value beyond just funding – offers networking, peer review and first-to-market resources for crowdfunding success

SPRINGFIELD, MO, June 4, 2013 – CrowdIt (www.crowdit.com), the first company to bring business networking and support services into the crowdfunding experience, today announced that its crowdfunding site went live with more than 140 projects ready to be funded. CrowdIt has created strong industry buzz and attracted a large initial number of projects and users due to its mission to revolutionize the crowdfunding industry by adding value beyond just the funding event. Its model provides much-needed support for success through mentoring, peer-review and third-party support services, while extending the crowdfunding experience to the professional community at large through an interactive and engaging social network.

The company also is contributing $10,000 to the project that reaches the highest amount of funding by Aug. 18, 2013, 75 days after today’s go-live date.

“The live launch of CrowdIt is a great day for the company, all of our dreamers with projects, our partners and the industry as we introduce new and innovative ways to improve the crowdfunding experience,” said Jason Graf, co-founder and CEO of CrowdIt. “Starting today, people can support projects and soon, business professionals can join our social business network community to ignite the next wave in crowdfunding that shifts the focus from just funding to end-to-end project success.”

CrowdIt now has more than 140 projects, from more than 30 states that range from small to very large, with an average project size of around $60,000. It presents an entirely new approach to crowdfunding with a clear mission – to extend beyond just funding by incorporating much-needed expert advice, peer review, collaboration and business networking into the core functionality of the site. The CrowdIt community already has more than 1,000 registered Dreamers (project owners) and Believers (project supporters). Suits (business professionals and mentors) will soon be able to join the site as well. Anyone can sign into the CrowdIt community to search for like-minded partners, engage in conversation and collaborate toward the success of the crowdfunding project.

In addition to funding projects, CrowdIt offers:

• CrowdIt Project Groups: all project owners can set up groups of supporters and mentors to create a social and collaborative workspace to brainstorm and move projects forward.
• Inter-network Communication: Suits, Dreamers and Believers will all be able to communicate via direct messaging and within weeks, instant messaging. This extends the interactivity of the CrowdIt community to promote collaboration and project success.
• Badges Highlighting Special Users: Through both unique levels of participation and contributions on the site, people can unlock achievements and new capabilities through an initial set of 25 badges offered by CrowdIt.

Furthermore, Graf says CrowdIt will soon be able offer Suit Community Sign-ups. Suits are the professional experts that are welcome and encouraged to support the crowdfunding movement through CrowdIt. Lawyers, accountants, consultants, accredited investors and experienced entrepreneurs can soon join the CrowdIt community to connect with and support project dreamers that are in need of assistance and guidance. CrowdIt will continue to add new features and functionality to the site and the crowd itself will be instrumental in determining what capabilities can be improved and what other features should be considered.

JNBridge recognized for its innovative interoperability tools that help large enterprise IT organizations synchronize leading development environments – Java and .NET

BOULDER, Colo., June 10, 2013 — JNBridge, (www.jnbridge.com), a leading provider of interoperability tools that connect the Java and .NET Frameworks both on the ground and in the cloud, today announced it has been named to the 2013 SD Times 100 in the “APIs, Libraries and Frameworks” category. SD Times (www.sdtimes.com) names companies and organizations of all sizes who have demonstrated leadership and innovation that contribute to the advancement of the software development industry over the past calendar year.

“The software development industry is led by innovative companies like JNBridge,” said Alan Zeichick, Editorial Director of BZ Media’s SD Times. “When choosing the 2013 SD Times 100, we carefully considered each organization’s products and services, reputation with software development managers, and the new ideas and thought leadership that it brings to the industry. Thanks to companies like JNBridge, a leader in Java and .NET interoperability, the art and science of software development continues to advance at a rapid pace.”

JNBridgePro connects Java and .NET Framework-based components and applications together with simple-to-use Visual Studio and Eclipse plug-ins that remove the complexities of cross-platform interoperability. Earlier this year, JNBridge announced the release of JNBridgePro 7.0, with support for Mono, the open source implementation of Microsoft’s .NET Framework. Using JNBridgePro 7.0, developers can create applications that integrate Java and .NET components, and deploy them on Linux or Windows machines: the .NET-side is no longer restricted to just Windows.

“We are honored to receive this recognition for the second year in a row by SD Times,” said Wayne Citrin, CTO of JNBridge. “Our customers tell us they need simpler ways to connect with other systems and exchange information — to make the development process easier and more productive. Delivery of products, like JNBridgePro 7.0, support that need and we look forward to continue rolling out new solutions to continue to meet developers’ needs.”
