The evening will feature a performance by Son Lux (NPR's "Best Unknown of 2008"), the premiere of the masterfully produced iE short film, and the Empathy Experience, a gallery installation with story-telling artifacts from locations across the world.<br /><br />"There are many reasons to be aware of and support this very special event," said Jason Cormier, managing partner of Room 214. "First and foremost, the sex trafficking of children is perhaps one of the most heinous crimes of humanity. Although it's more prevalent in poverty stricken areas like Southeast Asia, people should know this kind of slavery exists even in our own state. It's a privilege to support a local non-profit startup like iEmpathize, an organization birthed and based from our hometown that is making a difference worldwide. Some things we must choose not to look away from."<br /><br />iEmpathize focuses on bringing to light issues of injustice that are often overlooked or ignored.
