Additional channel partners see benefits of mobile duress systems that combine location with mass notification
LOUISVILLE, Colo., Oct. 24, 2011 – Inovonics (http://www.inovonics.com), the industry leader in high-performance wireless sensor networks for commercial and life safety applications, today announced it has signed two additional channel partners to resell its Radius™ product. Radius is the security industry’s first situational awareness system that combines mass notification capabilities with advanced wireless positioning technology to pinpoint mobile duress alarm devices. The new Radius dealers are HSS (http://www.hss-us.com) and BW Systems (http://www.bwsystems.net/index.html).
“We are thrilled to have these companies on board to support our efforts with Radius,” said Mark Jarman, president of Inovonics. “HSS and BW Systems not only are valued partners, but leaders in security systems integration and will be a critical part of helping us reach our goal of making Radius a prominent location-based mobile duress system in buildings and campuses across the country.”
Radius monitors Inovonics’ end devices, interfaces to fire, access control and environmental systems and provides instant notification to security alert devices. It can determine the location of a mobile emergency call within a campus or building setting. An embedded server manages both monitoring and mass notification, and the Inovonics network then communicates critical events and data to the proper personnel. It has the ability to route alerts to individuals or groups. Radius also can send recurring events and messages, such as maintenance reminders, one-time instant messages, and office closures due to weather. The product can work alone or be integrated with other safety and security systems.
HSS
Founded in Denver in 1967, HSS has grown to become one of America’s leading sourcing companies (http://www.hss-us.com), providing technical and professional service programs to customers nationwide. HSS offers specialized expertise to customers in select markets. HSS services include healthcare/hospital security, aviation/airport security, government security, biomedical equipment management, security systems integration, and temporary healthcare staffing.
“HSS is a dealer of Radius because we believe many campuses and buildings can benefit from a mobile duress system that also offers integrated notification, situational awareness and location on a single platform,” said David Sheets, Security Systems Integration at HSS. “Our expertise in security systems integration, combined with Inovonics wireless technology, will allows us to leverage Radius to offer innovative, reliable and flexible security systems during instances where life safety is of paramount importance.”
BW Systems
BW Systems (http://www.bwsystems.net/index.html) is a leading systems integrator with a focus on access control, intrusion detection, ICIDS, CCTV Surveillance, fire alarm and mass notification. Established in 1979, BW Systems is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo. and services a wide range of markets, including Department of Defense facilities, government, commercial, educational and medical.
“We are confident in Radius because it is a one of a kind, complete end-to-end, IP-enabled wireless solution for the security market,” said Steve Cress, director of sales at BW Systems. “Our extensive background in the security market and Inovonics’ leading wireless technology is a great combination for installing high-quality security systems.”

Mobile duress system beats the competition in the mass notification category with its ability to pinpoint alarm devices
LOUISVILLE, Colo., Aug. 26, 2011 – Inovonics (http://www.inovonics.com), the industry leader in high performance wireless sensor networks for commercial and life safety applications, today announced that its innovative location and situational awareness system, Radius, was awarded Security Products magazine’s 2011 “New Product of the Year” award in the mass notification category. This year, the third year of the contest, 86 product submissions were received. Awards were distributed among 15 different product categories.
“It’s an honor to receive the Product of the Year Award for Radius,” said Mark Jarman, president of Inovonics. “This award is a testament to our commitment to providing the most effective and reliable end-to-end IP-enabled wireless system in the security market today. At Inovonics, we strive not only to protect an organization’s physical structure, but ensure the safety of its most critical assets – human lives.”
Radius monitors any of Inovonics’ security sensors or end devices and interfaces to fire, access control and environmental monitoring systems, providing instant notification to mass communication alert devices. When a security or life threatening event occurs, the alert is automatically transmitted to Radius. Once the signal is received, the system processes and locates the position of the event and alerts the appropriate authorities. Radius can work alone or be integrated with other safety/security systems. The key features and benefits of Radius include:
In addition to being honored during the Security Products Virtual Event, an online physical security conference, all of the winners – including Inovonics – will be presented with their awards at ASIS 2011 in Orlando, FL, September 19-21, 2011. Inovonics’ Radius will be featured in its booth #3801 at ASIS.
