New FreeWave Tool Suite simplifies and expedites the configuration and management of FreeWave radio networks- for free
BOULDER, Colo., June 15, 2009 – FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, today announced the release of FreeWave Tool Suite, a new software platform for managing radio configuration and network application needs from a single interface. FreeWave Tool Suite is available free to all FreeWave customers and includes upgrades from FreeWave’s previous software solutions (EZ Config, Hyperterminal, CommControl). It is ideal for multiple markets, including oil and gas, water/wastewater, electric power, irrigation/agriculture, cathodic protection and solar/wind power.
“We wanted to give our customers one tool to consolidate, configure, update and manage their multiple applications and variety of radios,” explained Ken Granader, vice president of sales at FreeWave. “We believe the FreeWave Tool Suite will fit their needs and provide an easy, efficient way to manage their radios’ health and status – all from a single, easy-to-use interface.”
The FreeWave Tool Suite software offers several benefits to users, including:
„Ï An enhanced, more intuitive, single user interface – the simplified design of the interface enables new users to quickly become productive.
„Ï Simplified rapid set up and management of large networks – FreeWave Tool Suite has the ability to manage multiple networks and multiple frequencies within a single system.
„Ï Offers simpler views – the new Tree View organization in FreeWave Tool Suite allows all slaves reporting to a given master or repeater to show up directly under that master/repeater.
„Ï More increased compatibility – there are more radio types supported in network diagnostics of FreeWave Tool Suite than in previous software versions, such as CommControl.
„Ï Robust reporting – FreeWave Tool Suite offers historical data tracking that allows users to view a graph in diagnostics of historical data for any radio, at any given time period. In addition to having the graphs running live with updated diagnostics data, it provides scaled values on graphs as well as detailed trend lines so users can zoom in on any trend line to get the exact data for a specific period of time.
„Ï Single User Interface – Tool Suite has an advanced and more intuitive, single user interface
The FreeWave Tool Suite is available today and is free to existing customers. Additional information, including detailed specifications and applicable radios is available online at www.freewave.com/toolsuite or by contacting FreeWave at 800-548-5616.

Leading Agile organization adds industry experts to meet growing demand for Agile knowledge, community building and sharing of best practices
PORTLAND, Oregon, Dec. 8, 2008 – The Agile Alliance, (http://www.agilealliance.com) a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those who explore and apply Agile principles and practices, today announced four new members to its board of directors. The new members will help guide the growth and vision of the Agile Alliance as it continues to meet the growing demand for information and knowledge that leads to successful Agile software development programs.
“We are pleased to add a diverse group of board members who have the experience and industry knowledge needed to build upon the foundation of our organization,” said Phil Brock, managing director of the Agile Alliance. “In addition to helping grow and improve on the success of our Agile conferences, these new board members will bring new and innovative ideas on how the Agile Alliance can better support the Agile development community.”
The new board members will each serve a two-year term. They replace outgoing members Ryan Martens, Willem Van Den Ende, and Mike Griffiths. Johanna Rothman will serve as the appointed chair of the Agile 2009 conference (www.agile2009.org) scheduled for Aug. 24-28, 2008 in Chicago.
To help steward and guide the organization’s growth, the Agile Alliance elected four new board members:
The Agile Alliance continues to increase its membership each year in line with the mounting interest and adoption of Agile processes within the software development industry. One key indicator of the increasing adoption of Agile practices is the continuing demand for Agile knowledge by enterprises looking to reap the benefits of the discipline. In addition, the continuing interest and participation in the annual Agile conferences which offer more than 80 presentations to hundreds of attendees each year.
About The Agile Alliance

Schiel and James to share insights into how the Scrum methodology
can support ISO-9001 certification efforts and team building
Who: Jim Schiel
Certified Scrum Trainer
Danube Technologies, Inc. (www.danube.com)
Schiel is one of the foremost experts on Scrum and one of five Certified Scrum Trainers at Danube. He joined the company after 22 years with Siemens, where he played an instrumental role in creating one of the largest Scrum installations in the world.
Michael James
Certified Scrum Trainer
Danube Technologies, Inc. (www.danube.com)
James is one of Danube’s software process mentors and a Certified Scrum Trainer, focusing on the engineering practices that enable agility. Having worked in the software industry for more than 25 years as a developer he has experience in automated testing that predates the Extreme Programming movement.
What: Implementing ISO (9001 in Scrum Environment)
ISO-9001 is widely seen as a product differentiator for businesses operating within highly competitive markets. Many businesses have, over the years, put a considerable amount of time and money into acquiring ISO-9001 certification. Unfortunately, agile development is often seen as an obstacle to maintaining the ISO certification. Contrary to this belief, however, the Scrum method of agile development offers up a set of unique operating characteristics that do not interfere with the implementation standards routinely seen within the software engineering industry. In this session, Schiel will describe some of the challenges of these ISO-9001-related implementations, along with practical approaches to dealing with them. Topics discussed during the session include: how to define a quality policy, how to define required processes and how to leverage Scrum sprint reviews to support organizational audit-ability.
Exploring Team Ingenuity Outside the Software Industry
Aviators, surgical teams, elite military squads, and jazz musicians have discovered teamwork is the main factor in their effectiveness. The visibility of success or failure in these fields lends itself to analysis of teamwork in general. Scrum has helped the software industry realize teamwork is crucial to business success. James will explore what ScrumMasters learn from the study of teamwork in other fields and the techniques other disciplines have tried for improving teamwork. In this highly interactive session, James will lead attendees through discussions on how Scrum teams can take their performance and ingenuity to the next level.
