Goldman will be joining the oil and gas sales team from his previous position as utility market manager. Goldman has been working at FreeWave for five years and will cover key accounts in both the U.S. and Canada.

New product by Inovonics combines first PSIA-compliant area controller with Internet protocol and Inovonics commercial wireless mesh network

ISC WEST - LAS VEGAS, April 10, 2013, (Booth #3127) – Inovonics (http://www.inovonics.com), the industry leader in high-performance wireless sensor networks for commercial and life safety, today launched the EchoStream® EN6080 Area Control Gateway (ACG), the industry’s first PSIA (www.psiaalliance.org) compliant device that provides IP-based interoperability of leading access control, video and area control (formerly burglary and intrusion detection) systems. The EN6080 ACG enables integration, configuration and management of thousands of wireless devices, establishes interoperability between multiple physical security systems and creates a common communications platform to build customized commercial security solutions based on specific organizational requirements.

“Proximex Surveillint was designed with an open architecture to integrate information from many disparate security systems and devices,” said Larry Lien, vice president of product management at Proximex. “By supporting open standards from PSIA, Proximex worked with Inovonics to quickly and easily integrate Inovonics’ wireless intrusion endpoints to our Surveillint PSIM solution using the EN6080 ACG. • Direct IP integration: Wireless sensors are registered through a browser-based embedded web server and incorporated into a commercial security system.

WHAT: Hybrid Communication Networks In an industry saturated with many pipeline monitoring solutions, it is critical for operators to understand which technologies are best-suited for their pipeline infrastructure and their impact on their cathodic protection (CP) efforts. Sometimes, it makes the most sense to take a hybrid approach and leverage several solutions for a company’s asset monitoring needs. Traditionally, companies with large geographically dispersed communication networks typically have selected one technology, one source, one vendor to collect, retrieve and report data to assess the health of their pipeline infrastructures. However, there is a new paradigm today in which organizations are breaking away from tradition and deploying multiple communication technologies to create a hybrid communications network that can better serve an organization’s needs. Steele will present the many different technologies available to keeps maintenance and monthly costs down; decrease polling cycle times and reduce network error-correction time; and eliminate “pinch points,” or single points of failure. Plunger Lift I/O Traditionally, an operator was required to manually shut in a well to create pressure downhole in wells that suffered from heavy fluid loads. Artificial lift is a method used to build enough downhole pressure to lift or produce the liquid from the well. With options for communicating plunger lift data to the RTU being wired or wireless, producers have a decision to consider. This paper is intended to enable that decision with valuable information. Steele will review artificial lift and teach attendees how to navigate the decision between wired or wireless solutions in regards to their artificial lift systems. The presentation will explore the viable, reliable and robust qualities of wireless tools which keep them on par with, and in some cases, superior to their wired solution competitors.
